BorrowerCompass

Press & Media

Last updated: May 2026

Journalists, podcasters, and editors: BorrowerCompass provides plain-language expert commentary on US consumer finance. We respond quickly and on the record, and we don't hide behind PR-speak. If you're on deadline, email press@borrowercompass.com and say so in the subject line.

Who we are

BorrowerCompass is an independent consumer finance education and comparison platform. We are not a lender, debt relief provider, or credit repair company. We explain how loans, debt, and credit actually work so people can make informed decisions, and we hold a strict separation between our editorial views and our commercial partnerships (see our Editorial Policy).

Available for commentary

Our editor, Dom Hartley, has more than a decade in consumer finance across credit risk, collections, and loan servicing. That operator background means he can speak to how these systems work from the inside, not just from the outside. He's available for quotes, interviews, and background on topics including:

  • How debt settlement, consolidation, and debt management plans really work, and who each helps
  • What actually moves a credit score, and the myths that don't
  • Dealing with debt collectors and consumer rights under the FDCPA
  • How lenders evaluate borrowers, and what happens to an account behind the scenes
  • Financial hardship, collections, and recovery for everyday households

Topics we cover

Across the site we publish in-depth, sourced guidance on: Loans, Debt Relief, Debt Consolidation, Credit Repair, Credit Scores, Budgeting, Financial Hardship. Each guide cites primary sources (CFPB, FTC, FICO, IRS) and is written for real situations rather than ideal ones.
